Laure Gayraud is an epidemiology researcher and orthoptist within the LEHA team at the BPH. Her work focuses on age-related eye diseases.
Through her research, she is exploring the impact of air pollution and, more recently, has been developing a project on occupational exposure.
It was during the congress of the French Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology that Laure was awarded a prize in recognition of the excellence and contribution of her work in the field of geriatric health: the Edouard and Lucie Chaffoteaux Prize from the Fondation de France

A long-standing ally of medical research, the Fondation de France, with its 130 member foundations, has supported numerous projects to the amount of €30 million in 2025.
The Fondation de France was also one of the first to support research into eye diseases.

This year, the Fondation de France and its affiliated foundations have recognised fundamental and applied research that has led to major innovations.
Among the 29 researchers honoured with the Medical Research Awards, Laure Gayraud, along with the seven other winners in the Geriatrics category, each received the Edouard and Lucie Chaffoteaux Foundation Prize, worth €15,000, for their contribution to advances in the field of geriatrics and the fight against ageing.

Congratulations to all the winners for the quality of their work, which makes a significant contribution to addressing the health challenges of the future.
