Retour

On 13 February, ISPED submitted the candidature
of Emmanuelle Orsini and Marius Robert to the Académie française
for a Jean-Walter Zellidja scholarship.

This grant will enable our two prize-winners to continue
their thesis work during a stay in another country

The Jean-Walter Zellidja Scholarship, awarded by the Académie française, provides financial support for high-quality study and research projects requiring a stay abroad.
It is aimed at young French-speaking researchers under the age of 30 who wish to further their education or carry out personal research abroad.
The excellence and solidity of the research project are essential conditions for the award of this prestigious scholarship.

Emmanuelle Orsini is a doctoral student in public health with a major in epidemiology, working in the BPH’s ELEANOR team.
Her thesis topic is ‘High-throughput metabolomics as a molecular epidemiology tool for a better understanding of the complex determinants of cognitive and cerebral ageing’, under the supervision of her thesis supervisor, Cécilia Samieri, and her co-supervisor, David-Alexandre Trégouët.
Through this subject, Emmanuelle is bringing new knowledge to a better understanding of the role of different environmental exposures, the exposome, on cognitive decline.

For his part, Marius Robert is a doctoral student in public health, specialising in biostatistics.
His thesis, entitled ‘Evaluation of breast cancer screening programmes using new statistical methodologies’, looks at the effectiveness and biases of breast cancer detection.
Marius is working with the Biostat team at the BPH, under the supervision of Virginie Rondeau and Maja Pohar Perme.

For our laureates, it’s a great recognition of their work, but also an opportunity to enrich themselves professionally and personally through an international experience.

We wish them all the best for a successful and fulfilling stay.
