Two young researchers from the BPH have been awarded the Walter Zellidja Fellowship
RetourDaniela GOUNA from the SISTM team and Tom FISCHER from the PHARes team are the two recipients of the Académie française’s Walter Zellidja grant.
Thanks to this award, they will both be able to continue their work abroad for six months

This year, two applications submitted by the BPH for the Académie française’s Walter Zellidja grant have been successful.
The Walter Zellidja grant is a form of financial support awarded to young researchers whose study and research projects require a period of study abroad.
This grant encourages the development of promising young researchers’ expertise and work.
Here are the two outstanding projects proposed by our award winners:

Daniela GOUNA, a PhD student in the SISTM team, is writing her thesis on modelling post-vaccination immune responses. In particular, she had the opportunity to work on data relating to the Ebola vaccine.
Thanks to the Jean-Walter Zellidja scholarship, Daniela will be spending six months in Oxford with the aim of helping to improve vaccination strategies and thereby contribute to global public health.

Tom FISCHER, from the PHARes team, is writing a thesis on the interaction between environmental and social factors in the spatial distribution of causes of death, as well as cardio-neurovascular diseases, notably through the NOISES project. He is also going on a six-month stay, this time in Boston, to continue his research.
Congratulations to our winners!
