Hélène SAINT-MARTIN will defend her dissertation in psychology, supervised by Dr. Isabelle ROUCH and Dr. Jean-Michel DOREY, titled :

“Physical pain, emotional pain: interactions between chronic pain and psychiatric disorders in older adults”

Hélène SAINT-MARTIN has been a psychologist specializing in neuropsychology since 2021 and has been working ever since in a geriatric psychiatry unit at Le Vinatier in Lyon. Her work is divided between clinical practice (conducting neuropsychological assessments and caring for hospitalized elderly patients) and research. She focuses on cases of multimorbidity, particularly the interaction between physical pain and psychiatric disorders in older adults. Her dissertation consisted of a literature review on this topic, as well as analyses of data collected within the geriatric psychiatry unit at Le Vinatier and a geriatric department at the Saint-Étienne University Hospital..
